Do We Need More Foodtech Accelerators?
Europe has built more than 200 foodtech accelerators and incubators in the last decade, yet investment has stalled and few startups scale to industrial impact. This keynote doesn't call for fewer accelerators: it calls for less duplication, more specialization, and better-connected infrastructure between innovation and the industrial scale-up it requires (pilot plants, TRL 6-9, manufacturing). Drawing on verified data from EIT Food, DigitalFoodLab, AZTI, IRTA and AINIA, and real cases from Spanish startups, Juan proposes where the next euro should go if the real goal is getting food innovation to market.
